District Background and Information
The District is a municipal utility district created by an order of the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, predecessor to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (the "TCEQ" or "Commission",) on March 10, 1997. The District is empowered, among other things, to purchase, construct, operate and maintain all works, improvements, facilities, and plants necessary for the supply of water, the collection, transportation, and treatment of wastewater, and the control and diversion of storm water. Development in the District commenced in 1999 by Sienna/Johnson Development, L.P. The District has annexed approximately 270.895 acres to the District's original acreage of approximately 958 acres. Approximately 851 acres have been developed in the District.
Current and Future Projects
Construction of water, sanitary sewer and drainage facilities are being constructed in Village of Waters Lake Sections 16 and 27. The District also made a joint contribution with Sienna Plantation Municipal Utility District No. 2 to Scanlan Oaks Elementary School for construction of a shade structure for the playground. The District made a like contribution to Sienna Crossing Elementary School for the purchase of additional playground equipment.
Future District project include the construction of water, sanitary sewer and drainage facilities to develop Village of Waters Lake Sections 6B, 12 and 14.
